Meet MATY & EVEN an adorable couple who met me at the lake pleasant lantern festival for a fun evening.

Side note: Sometimes your photoshoot doesn't have to be some amazing location 2+ hours away it can be an event like this one! These couples photos tell a story and are a series of events which is something fun and different to look back on. I love to create memories with shoots and not just pictures. I want you to look back at your images and relive the fun/adventure we had together.

I don't know if you have ever been to a lantern festival before but let me tell you how they work (which SHOULD be common sense) and then let me tell you how it actually went.

At a lantern festival you get there, pick up your lanterns, watch the sunset THEN when it is completely dark and they shut the lights off, you light your lantern and let it go. Seems simple, right?

Well, at the time I took this photo the sun was setting (so still pretty bight outside) and people started lighting their lanterns and letting them go, I was SO disappointed. There was even a guy on a microphone saying "don't let the lanterns go, it is not time yet" and no one listened.

I mean look at the photo below still so light out and all the lanterns are going up. SO what did we do? WE lit our lantern and we started the shoot early and hoped for the best.

Right before we let it go, I told them to kiss and got the magic shot below which is the one I posted on my instagram! Yes, we still got great shots, and yes not everything went perfectly and to plan. Something to remember from this is no matter what happens you work around it and you still may get that shot that melts your heart. The one below this is that shot for me.

So by the time we had released it and all the lanterns were in the air, it would have been the real time to actually lite and release the lanterns (maybe even a little after the photo below was taken is when we should of all lit our lanterns). But in the end we still had a fun memory and a few magic shots so it was all worth it.

Side note: because everyone released them SO early I actually went ahead and photoshopped some lanterns in a few of these photos! Ill post a before and after so you can see!!
